Got it!

Trying to get a prego picture of Sarah is not easy!!  I finally got her to stand still this afternoon for a second as they were leaving for a birthday party!  Isn't her little prego belly cute?  Our little guy is growing!!

Best Sister in the World!!

I have the best sister in the world...Joye sent me a care package this week and I was so excited!! It came on a great day when I was starting to get really bored and tired of laying on the couch, tired of finding something to watch on TV, tired of being so dependent!! So, now I can read and eat chocolate and carmel covered macadamia nuts, what's better than that? Honestly, those macadamia nuts are the best things ever!! I'll thank Joye when I gain 10 pounds :-)

I'll be starting outpatient therapy in a week and she has me all lined up with a new outfit! And I just love the devotions book, very special, I read it every morning and night and it helps put things in perspective!

Thanks Joye, you are the best and I really appreciate all your support and love!

My lovely leg...

Hi all-
Well, here's the lovely knee...it's been an experience, I'm finally feeling back amongst the living! Even though I still spend most of my time on the couch, I am definitely getting up and around more and getting stronger and stronger. My walker makes me feel like I'm 80, but I'm happy to have it at this point as it makes me feel safe and stable when I walk. I walked with a cane today with my therapist and that went very well, but he wants me to have supervision for a while on the cane and so I can't give up the walker quite yet!

I owe many thanks for all the phone calls, cards, meals, visits in the hospital...I could have never made it through this without my wonderful family and friends! I love you all!!!



I've missed all the blogging - it appears that January is not a big blogging month as there haven't been many updates. I check every day though as I am getting bored with the couch routine! So, if you have anything to blog, give me some new reading material - PLEASE!! :-)

she seems to be feeling better as long as those pain meds are a coming!!  nurse dan will have to make sure to keep on it!! :)

just talked to my mom.  she is feeling a little better, her words were  "at least I feel like I am going to make it now" ... :(  poor thing said she had a really rough day and night!!!  I don't think she anticipated this much pain, and if you are hearing it from her you know it's true.  cause she's one tough cookie!!

grammy got a new knee...

as you all know my mom had a total knee replacement today, and i just wanted to update you on how she is doing. the doctor said that the surgery was difficult because of all the damage (he said it looked like a gravel road in there)!! but everything went well, and the knee looks good.  she was put on a machine right away today for 4 hours to exercise her knee and my dad said she did NOT like that!! very painful! :(  when i talked to her (around 6pm) she wasn't feeling to well. hopefully she'll be feeling much better tomorrow.   i'll let you know...
